In the complex and unique environment of Native Title leadership, Traditional Owners often experience competing expectations with other Traditional Custodians, government, their community and family.
One of the core pillars of the National Native Title Council is to increase your capability as a productive PBC Director and Leader. This is achieved through national workshop opportunities where we cover the latest information and offer the chance to network with your peers in a safe environment
The Workshops
Hosted by the NNTC, the PBC Director Training is a 4-day workshop specifically designed for PBC Directors who want to gain a greater understanding of how to better leverage Native Title Rights.
Workshop topics include:
- Governance Director Duties
- United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
- Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC)
- Planning
- Finance
- Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA)
- Legal obligations
