NNTC Welcomes A New Chief Executive

The National Native Title Council (NNTC) has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer, Mr Glen Kelly following the sad passing of Mr Brian Wyatt in October this year.

NNTC’s Deputy Chairman, Mr Kevin Smith, said that whilst Mr Kelly had been appointed in sad circumstances, the Council is very excited to have Mr Kelly on board. “Glen brings a wealth of experience to the NNTC as the former CEO of the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council.

“As well as working in the Native Title Field for more than 15 years, he also has a background in Natural Resource Management and has extensive board experience.

“The NNTC sees the next few years as extremely challenging for Native Title Representative Bodies and Service Providers around Australia with a marked transition from claim resolution work to assisting Prescribed Bodies Corporate manage their native title rights and interests over traditional country.

“The Board looks forward to working with Mr Kelly, we are very optimistic about the future and the leadership that Mr Kelly will bring not only to the organisation but to the native title sector as a whole.

“We are very pleased that Glen has been appointed,” said Mr Smith. “It will ensure a smooth transition as the organisation processes what was the end of an era under Brian Wyatt. I would particularly like to thank my fellow Directors for their support over this difficult time.”
