UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of Indigenous Peoples country visit to Australia

The visit in November 2026 of the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of Indigenous Peoples will be informed by submissions on the current recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ rights. This NNTC submission examines the legislative and regulatory environment in which these rights are recognised in Australia, as well as broadly discussing:

•      Sector, legislative and regulatory framework
•      Economic Rights and Benefit Sharing
•      Cultural Rights and the Energy Transition.
