Regional members

Regional members include Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs) and Native Title Service Providers (NTSPs):

  • NTRBs are organisations formally recognised under the Native Title Act to represent and assist Traditional Owners in native title claims, negotiations, and agreements.
  • NTSPs are organisations funded to provide the same services as NTRBs in regions where no NTRB is formally recognised.
  • Regional Groupings of PBCs and TORIs.

Local members

Local members include Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) and Traditional Owner Representative Institutions (TORIs):

  • PBCs are corporations established to hold and manage native title rights and interests on behalf of Traditional Owners after a native title determination.
  • TORIs are organisations that represent the interests of Traditional Owner groups at a local level.

Northern Territory

The Central Land Council (CLC)

The Central Land Council represents Aboriginal people in Central Australia, advocating for over 24,000 people across 777,000 square kilometres. Following the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976, CLC focuses on protecting land rights, managing traditional lands, negotiating land-use agreements, and promoting self-determination. It also supports education, cultural preservation, environmental protection, and sustainable development for community wellbeing and prosperity.

Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation

Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation, founded after Native Title recognition in Alice Springs in 2002, is the prescribed body corporate (PBC) for Traditional Owners in the area. It focuses on land and resource management, cultural preservation, and community development to support Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.

Queensland

Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (CLCAC)

The Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation empowers Traditional Owners in the lower Gulf region by protecting their rights, advocating for native title recognition, and fostering sustainable economic development. CLCAC supports effective country management, cultural preservation, and capacity-building. Through initiatives like ranger programs and environmental protection, the council works collaboratively with communities to enable control over land, culture, and economic futures.

North Queensland Land Council (NQLC)

The North Queensland Land Council is a Native Title Representative Body under the Native Title Act 1993, assisting Traditional Owners with native title claims, court proceedings, future act applications, and Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs). NQLC supports Traditional Owners in securing native title recognition and helps communities manage and protect their lands, waters, and cultural heritage.

Queensland South Native Title Services (QSNTS)

Queensland South Native Title Services supports Traditional Owners in southern and western Queensland to achieve their native title aspirations. Guided by its vision, “Right People, Right Country, Right Path,” QSNTS partners with Traditional Owners to secure native title outcomes, manage Country, provide governance and capacity-building support to Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), and advocate for native title reform.

Bigambul Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

Bigambul Native Title Aboriginal Corporation represents the Bigambul People, recognised as Native Title Holders in 2012, with a determination area covering over 17,000 sq km in Queensland’s South-West. Their vision is to preserve cultural identity and empower the community through leadership, education, self-determination, and economic independence.

Boonthamurra Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

Boonthamurra Native Title Aboriginal Corporation, PBC is managed by a board of six volunteer directors and focuses on creating opportunities and positive outcomes for the Boonthamurra People.

Butchulla Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

Butchulla Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (BNTAC) is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Butchulla people, granted Native Title in December 2019 after a litigation process. Their determination covers lands across the Fraser Coast region and waters in the Sandy Straits adjacent to K’gari (Fraser Island), Queensland.

Choorechillum (Ngadjon Jii PBC) Aboriginal Corporation

Choorechillum (Ngadjon Jii PBC) Aboriginal Corporation represents the Ngadjon people, focusing on preserving land use, cultural heritage, and promoting Indigenous culture. It fosters community engagement and receives funding from the North Queensland Council.

Dulabed Malanbarra Yidinji Aboriginal Corporation

Dulabed Malanbarra Yidinji Aboriginal Corporation (DMYAC) is a PBC representing the Dulabed and Malanbarra Yidinji people, managing their native title rights following a consent determination in December 2009.

First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng, Taribelang Bunda People Aboriginal Corporation

First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng, Taribelang Bunda People Aboriginal Corporation  (PCCC Trust) manages benefits for the Byellee, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Taribelang peoples. It supports cultural heritage, economic development, and community programs across the Bundaberg, Gladstone, and North Burnett regions.

Gangalidda and Garawa Native Title Aboriginal Corporation GGNTAC

Gangalidda & Garawa Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (GGNTAC), established in 2010, is the Prescribed Body Corporate for Gangalidda & Garawa native title holders. It manages native title services and supports economic development through subsidiaries and businesses established after native title determinations.

Gkuthaarn and Kukatj Aboriginal Corporation

The Gkuthaarn and Kukatj Aboriginal Corporation  represents the Gkuthaarn and Kukatj People in native title matters. In 2020, a positive native title claim recognised their rights over 16,500 square kilometres of land along the Gulf of Carpentaria, including rivers and Normanton, where many native title holders reside.

Gugu Badhun Aboriginal Corporation

The Gugu Badhun Aboriginal Corporation  (GBAC) is a Prescribed Body Corporate managing the native title rights of the Gugu Badhun people under the CATSI Act. Incorporated on 3 May 2012 and registered as an  on 23 August 2012, it represents native title holders of land near the Burdekin River, Queensland.

Gulf Region Aboriginal Corporation

Gulf Region Aboriginal Corporation  (GRAC) was established to provide a legal entity for managing and conducting the affairs of native title holders. It ensures certainty for governments and other parties involved in accessing or regulating native title land and waters in the Gulf region.

Ipima Ikaya Aboriginal Corporation

The Ipima Ikaya Aboriginal Corporation (IIAC) was formed following the Northern Cape York Group #1 native title determination on 7 October 2014 to manage native title for the Angkamuthi, Atambaya, and Gudang Yadkeykenu tribes. A 2017 determination confirmed their traditional ownership of the region. “Ipima Ikaya” means “One Voice”.

Kooma Aboriginal Corporation

The Kooma Aboriginal Corporation  was formed to manage the rights and cultural heritage of the Kooma People, Traditional Owners in Queensland’s South-West. Following the recognition of their native title by the Federal Court in 2014, the corporation ensures compliance with the CATSI Act.

Mokwiri Aboriginal Corporation

The Mokwiri Aboriginal Corporation is a PBC administering land for six language groups: Yupungathi, Tjungundji, Taepadhighi, Mbakwithi, Thankakwithi, and Anathangay. Their native title rights were recognised in the Northern Cape York #2 Native Title Claim Group determination on 20 June 2014, managing their land and cultural heritage.

Mpundwithal Aboriginal Corporation

The Mpundwithal Aboriginal Corporation , incorporated in June 2022, manages the native title rights of the Mpundwithal people in Queensland. Operating under the CATSI Act, it is supported by the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation in Cairns to protect and manage their cultural heritage and land.

Ngan Aak-Kunch Aboriginal Corporation

Ngan Aak-Kunch Aboriginal Corporation (NAK) is a PBC representing the Wik, Wik Waya, and Kugu people of West Cape York. It manages their native title rights, ensuring the protection of their cultural heritage and land under the relevant legal frameworks.

Ngrragoonda Aboriginal Corporation

The Ngrragoonda Aboriginal Corporation  (NAC) was established following the Gudjula People’s native title determinations in March 2014. It manages approximately 10,617 square kilometres of land across the Etheridge, Flinders, and Charters Towers Shires, representing the Gudjula People and administering their native title rights and land.

Pitta Pitta Aboriginal Corporation

The Pitta Pitta Aboriginal Corporation  is a PBC managing the native title rights of the Pitta Pitta people in Queensland’s Boulia region. Established in 2002 and registered in 2014, it protects the Pitta Pitta people’s cultural heritage and ensures their legal rights are upheld.

Seven Rivers Aboriginal Corporation

The Seven Rivers Aboriginal Corporation represents the Ankamuthi people’s native title rights in the Cape York Peninsula. Their rights were recognised in the Ankamuthi People #2 determination in July 2017, covering land and water around the Ducie River. An additional claim has been determined by consent but is not yet registered.

Wadjanbarra Tableland Yidinji Aboriginal Corporation

The Tableland Yidinji (Idinji) people, comprising the Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji nations, are represented by a PBC that administers their traditional land on their behalf. The group protects and manages the cultural heritage and native title rights of the Tableland Yidinji People.

Yuwaalaraay Euahlayi Aboriginal Corporation

The Yuwaalaraay Euahlayi Aboriginal Corporation is a PBC established to manage the native title rights and interests of the Yuwaalaraay Euahlayi people. It ensures the protection and administration of their cultural heritage and native title rights.

South Australia

South Australia Native Title Services (SANTS)

South Australian Native Title Services is a not-for-profit organisation that supports Aboriginal people in South Australia to secure and protect native title rights. SANTS works with communities to achieve their social, cultural, and economic goals, providing services such as governance support, land management, and cultural heritage protection, while also advocating for the recognition and effective management of native title.

First Nations of South Australia Aboriginal Corporation

The First Nations Aboriginal Corporation (FNSAAC) is the peak body representing South Australian Aboriginal Nations, including PBCs, claim groups, and land-holding bodies like Maralinga Tjarutja and Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara. It provides leadership, advocacy, and resources without interfering in local governance, and represents South Australia nationally on native title and heritage matters.

Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation (AMYAC)

The Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation is a PBC representing the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara people. Its main functions include managing native title rights, ensuring compliance with Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs), and promoting economic development through subsidiary enterprises.

Arabana Aboriginal Corporation

The Arabana Aboriginal Corporation is a PBC that administers lands and waters on behalf of the Arabana people. It manages their native title rights and interests, ensuring the protection and sustainable use of their cultural heritage and land.

Dieri Aboriginal Corporation

The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation  is a PBC representing the Dieri people, the traditional owners of Dieri land. It manages their native title rights and interests, ensuring the protection and sustainability of their cultural heritage and land.

Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation (KYAC)

The Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation  is a PBC managing the native title rights of the Kaurna people in South Australia. Incorporated on 17 July 2002 and registered on 26 November 2018, it oversees cultural heritage and land management, acting as an agent for the Kaurna people.

Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal Corporation

The Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal Corporation  manages native title rights recognised in 2017. Part A covers areas from Murray Bridge to Cape Jervis, with Part B ongoing. These rights include access to land, hunting, fishing, gathering, and cultural activities.

Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka Traditional Land Owners (Aboriginal Corporation)

The Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka Traditional Landowners (Aboriginal Corporation) acts as the agent for the native title rights of the Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka people in far northeastern South Australia. Their native title over traditional lands was recognised in the Yandruwandha/Yawarrawarrka Native Title Claim determination in December 2015.

New South Wales

Bandjalang Aboriginal Corporation

The Bandjalang Aboriginal Corporation is the prescribed body corporate for the Bandjalang people, whose native title rights were recognized after 17 years of legal proceedings in 2017. The corporation works to protect the Bandjalang people’s cultural heritage and manage native title rights over traditional lands around Evans Head in northern New South Wales.

Gumbaynggirr Wenonah Head Aboriginal Corporation

Gumbaynggirr Wenonah Head Aboriginal Corporation is the PBC for the Gumbaynggirr People, whose native title rights were recognised in December 2017. Their determination covers Crown land east of the North Coast Railway, west of the Pacific Ocean, south to Nambucca Shire, and includes 23 hectares on the mid-north coast.

Yaegl Aboriginal Corporation

Yaegl Aboriginal Corporation represents the Yaegl people of northern New South Wales, working to protect their native title, cultural heritage, and land rights. The corporation provides services to support the community’s social, cultural, and economic goals, while advocating for self-determination, legal recognition, and capacity-building.

Torres Strait

GBK - Gur A Baradharaw Kod Torres Strait Sea and Land Council (GBK)

Gur A Baradharaw Kod Sea and Land Council is the peak representative body for the Torres Strait, representing 21 Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate (PBCs) across the region. As a not-for-profit organization, GBK advocates for Traditional Owners, influences policy, and supports community-led initiatives for positive change. GBK also plays a key role in land and sea management, cultural preservation, and providing governance and capacity-building support to PBCs.

Badu Ar Mua Migi Lagal (TSI) Corporation

The Badu Ar Mua Migi Lagal Corporation holds native title for the Badualgal and Mualgal Peoples, recognised in 2006 over islands south of Badu and Mua in the Torres Strait. Rights include exclusive land use above the high-water mark and non-exclusive water use. Title for Warral and Ului Islands was confirmed in October 2024.

Dauanalgaw (Torres Strait Islanders) Corporation

The Dauanalgaw (Torres Strait Islanders) Corporation  holds native title in trust for the Dauan people, following a positive determination in July 2000. This grants them rights of possession, occupation, use, and enjoyment over the determination area. They represent the interests of the Dauan people.

Malu Ki'ai (TSI) Corporation - Boigu Island PBC

Malu Ki’ai (TSI) Corporation – Boigu Island PBC manages native title for the Boigu people over Boigu and Talbot Islands. Recognised in 2005, their rights include exclusive land possession and non-exclusive water use for personal and communal purposes.

Malu Lamar

The Malu Lamar Corporation manages native title for Torres Strait Islanders, recognised in the 2010 Torres Strait Regional Sea Claim. The High Court upheld their rights to fish for trade and sale, despite fisheries laws.

Victoria

Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations (FVTOC)

The Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations represents and supports Traditional Owner Corporations across Victoria, advocating for their rights within the native title system and beyond. FVTOC works to strengthen policy and legislation to ensure Traditional Owners have greater control over land and water management while advancing their cultural heritage. The organisation is dedicated to fostering economic, social, environmental, and cultural development, helping Traditional Owner groups achieve self-determination and long-term sustainability. Through governance support, capacity-building initiatives, and strategic advocacy, FVTOC empowers its members to create strong, independent futures for their communities.

First Nations Legal and Research Services (FNLRS)

First Nations Legal & Research Services supports native title claims and settlements in Victoria, focusing on self-determination and working with First Nations communities. FNLRS provides legal advice, representation, and research services to help groups realise their land-based rights and secure formal recognition and support.

Barengi Gadjin Land Council Aboriginal Corporation

Barengi Gadjin Land Council Aboriginal Corporation, a PBC, holds native title rights in trust for the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergai, and Japagulk peoples. Their native title was recognised in the December 2005 Consent Determination.

Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation

The Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation (PBC), manages native title rights for the Eastern Maar people. As the Registered Aboriginal Party for Eastern Maar Country, it protects cultural heritage and is negotiating a Recognition and Settlement Agreement under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010.

Taungurung Land and Waters Council

Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) was registered in July 2009 as the Registered Aboriginal Party representing the Taungurung people. TLaWC serves as the corporate representative and ‘face’ of the Taungurung people, upholding their interests regarding culture and country.

Western Australia

Central Desert Native Title Services

Central Desert Native Title Services is a Native Title Service Provider for the Central Desert area in Western Australia, supporting Traditional Owners with native title claims, negotiations, and legal services. The organisation empowers communities through self-determination, helping Traditional Owners manage and protect their lands, waters, and cultural heritage, while fostering sustainable, community-driven outcomes.

Native Title Services Goldfields (NTSG)

NTS Goldfields Ltd is the native title service provider for the Goldfields region in Western Australia, assisting Aboriginal people with native title recognition under the Native Title Act 1993. NTSG supports claims, negotiates land use agreements, facilitates community consultation, and provides post-determination support to help Traditional Owners manage and protect their lands and resources.

South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC)

The South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council supports the South West Native Title Settlement, Australia’s largest of its kind. As the Central Services Corporation for the Noongar people, SWALSC provides administrative, financial, and corporate services to six Noongar regional corporations, while also supporting governance, land management, and cultural preservation efforts.

Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation

Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation represents the Ballardong Noongar people as part of the South West Native Title Settlement. The Ballardong people are from the Noongar language group, located north-east of Perth.

Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation BNTAC

BNTAC, formed in 2013, represents the collective interests of the Banjima people. As the native title PBC, it works to safeguard and strengthen native title agreements, ensuring the Banjima people benefit from activities on their Country.

Bardi Jawi Niimidiman Aboriginal Corporation

The Bardi and Jawi Niimidiman Aboriginal Corporation holds native title in trust for the Bardi and Jawi people. In August 2010, the Federal Court recognised their native title rights, which include both exclusive and non-exclusive rights in different areas of the determination area.

Budina Aboriginal Corporation

Budina Aboriginal Corporation received a Consent Determination in October 2017. As the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC), it holds native title in trust for the Budina people.

Bunuba Dawangarri Aboriginal Corporation

The Bunuba Dawangarri Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Bunuba people. It jointly manages Dimalurru National Park, Balili, Jungiwa, Danggu, Miluwindi, and Bandilngan Conservation and National Parks, ensuring the protection of Bunuba Country’s cultural and environmental values.

Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation BTAC

The Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Thalanyji people, managing their native title rights over 11,120 sq km in the West Pilbara. Established in 2008, it protects cultural and land interests, with offices in Onslow and Perth.

Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal

Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (PBC), established in 2016, represents the Kepa Kurl Wudjari people. As the Native Title Body Corporate, it ensures the protection of their cultural and environmental values and serves as the primary contact for government and other parties engaging with traditional owners in the Esperance region.

Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation

Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Noongar groups of Binjareb/Pinjarup, Wilman, and Ganeang. It manages native title rights in the Gnaala Karla Boodja region, part of the South West Settlement, protecting cultural and environmental values, with boundaries extending to the Balladong and Wagyl Kaip regions.

Gooniyandi Aboriginal Corporation

Gooniyandi Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Gooniyandi people, managing native title rights over their traditional lands since the 2013 determination. It ensures equitable and transparent processes to benefit future generations, navigating a dynamic political and social landscape.

Jamukurnu Yapalikurnu Aboriginal (JYAC )

Jamukurnu Yapalikurnu Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Martu common law holders, managing native title rights. JYAC works to advance the cultural, social, and economic well-being of the Martu people, ensuring benefits for current and future generations.

Kakarra Aboriginal Corporation

Kakarra Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) manages native title for its holders across a determined area spanning the Murchison, Coolgardie, and Great Victoria Desert bioregions. Recognised in November 2023, it oversees diverse landscapes, including salt lakes, mulga, spinifex, pastoral stations, and the Trans Continental Railway.

Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation

Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation is the representative regional body of Wardandi, Piblemen and Kaneang dialectical groups in the South West Boodja region. Covering 10,085 sq km, across the South West of Western Australia. Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation’s primary focus is our members’ wellbeing. Karri Karrak Aboriginal Corporation is committed to building the Noongar Nation and delivering equality, equity and advancing self-determination for our people.

Marputu Aboriginal Corporation

Marputu Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Gingirana people, whose name derives from the Western Desert language, Putijarra. It manages native title rights, ensuring the protection and preservation of the land, language, culture, and law connected to the Gingirana people.

Mayala Inninalang Aboriginal Corporation

Mayala Inninalang Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Mayala people in Western Australia. Established in 2019, it serves as the trustee for native title rights, operating from Broome. As a small PBC, it focuses on protecting the cultural and land interests of the Mayala people.

Mirning Traditional Lands Aboriginal Corporation

Mirning Traditional Lands Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) manages the native title rights of the Mirning Traditional Owners, recognised by the Federal Court in 2017. It oversees 32,711 sq km of traditional lands in Western Australia, extending from the South Australian border to Caiguna.

Mungarlu Ngurrarankatja Rirraunkaja Aboriginal Corporation

Mungarlu Ngurrarankatja Rirraunkaja Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Birriliburu people, managing their native title rights over 66,760 sq km in Western Australia’s Little Sandy Desert region. Established in 2010, the corporation protects the cultural and land interests of the Birriliburu people.

Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

The Ngadju Native Aboriginal Title Corporation  represents the Ngadju people, with native title recognised over 102,000 km² in South-East Western Australia in 2014 and 2017. The corporation focuses on preserving Ngadju culture, managing their Indigenous Protected Area, and promoting sustainable land use.

Ngarlawangga Aboriginal Corporation

The Ngarlawangga Aboriginal Corporation (PBC), manages the native title rights and interests of the Ngarlawangga people. Operating in Western Australia, the corporation is involved in cultural and land management activities.

Ngurra Kayanta Aboriginal Corporation

The Ngurra Kayanta Aboriginal Corporation (PBC), acts as the Prescribed Body Corporate for a designated Indigenous group in Western Australia. It manages native title rights and interests, working to preserve cultural heritage and support land management activities within its area of jurisdiction.

Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation

The Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation (PBC), established in 2009, represents the Nyangumarta people. Based in Perth, it manages native title rights and interests for the group. As a medium-sized PBC, the corporation focuses on preserving cultural heritage and overseeing land management within the Nyangumarta people’s traditional territories.

Palyku-Jartayi Aboriginal Corporation (PJAC)

The Palyku-Jartayi Aboriginal Corporation (PJAC), formed in January 2020, manages the native title rights of the Palyku people. Its key goals include cultural preservation, ensuring compliance with agreements, supporting community development, fostering employment, and promoting sustainability in the Palyku people’s traditional lands and territories.

Parna Ngururrpa Aboriginal Corporation

The Parna Ngururrpa Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) manages native title rights for the Ngururrpa people in Western Australia’s Central Desert. It oversees a large area, focusing on conservation, and operates the Ngururrpa Rangers program to support traditional land management practices.

PKKP Aboriginal Corporation

The PKKP Aboriginal Corporation (PBC) represents the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura people, managing their traditional lands and waters. It oversees cultural heritage, land use agreements, and resource management, ensuring the protection of the people’s rights and interests.

Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC)

The Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC), established in 1997, represents the Robe River Kuruma people, focusing on cultural identity, community independence, and wellbeing. Based in Karratha, WA, it manages native title areas, promoting healthy Country and supporting future generations through land and cultural heritage management.

Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC)

The Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC), established in 2012, manages the native title rights of the Wiluna Native Title Holders in Western Australia, following traditional law.
